Presented by Sydney Gimson, Gimson’s elder brother, in 1919.

These doors were made for a cabinet. The wood has been dished to take the inlaid decoration.

The doors are identical to those on a cabinet illustrated in the Studio Yearbook of 1908 (B114). That cabinet may have been no.15 in the Debenham and Freebody's show (cabinet in mahogany and ebony, inlaid with silver and mother of pearl £52.10.0).
