Designed by John Paul Cooper and made in his workshop at Betsom’s Hill, Westerham, Kent
 
Cedarwood covered with shagreen, stained green, fixed with silver mouldings with rope twist wirework and silver feet.
The silver catch is marked on the back ‘J.P.C.’

Selected for Leicester’s collections from an exhibition at Dunthorne & Son Ltd, London following Cooper’s death by the architect, William Keay of Pick, Everard, Keay & Gimson, a member of the museum committee
