The examples are: 1 door latch, 3 octagonal handles, 9 drop handles, 1 hinge. All decorated with simple incised patterns. With two parchment labels.

The two inscribed labels read:

Examples of Metal Work designed by the late E. Gimson – architect and craftsmen – formerly of Leicester. Given by his executors to the Leicester Municipal School of Art, May 1920, for purposes of study and inspiration.

These are not to be duplicated.


The three centre handles were made by an apprentice.
