It is not clear whether the design originated with Gimson or Cooper, quite possibly it was a collaborative effort. They were used on the internal drawers of cabinets and other small items.
The Architectural Review in February 1908 singled them out for praise in a review of Gimson’s exhibition at Debenham & Freebody’s:
The metal fittings are particularly delicate, and in particular the little T handles used for small cabinet drawers are a lesson in refinement.
